Oleg Zhuravlev
President and Director General

Oleg Zhuravlev is professionally trained as an Engineer from the Kurgan Institute of Engineering, Department of Motor Transport Economics & Management Department in Kurgan, Russia. Mr. Zhuravlev began his professional career as an engineer in the steel manufacturing industry. Over the past decade, Mr. Zhuravlev has held various progressive roles at a commercial bank. After reaching the position of Vice-President at this commercial bank, Mr. Zhuravlev took up the role of Department Chief of the Investments and Securities Market Department for the Committee on Economic Policy (Khanty-Mansysk Autonomous Area Administration). In addition to his professional experience, Mr. Zhuravlev is a former National Champion in long distance cross-country skiing.

With his extensive balanced experience as an Engineer, Banker and Development Economist, Mr. Zhuravlev brings key fiscal control, management and strategic focus to Siberian Energy.

Dr. Nikolay Zapivalov
Chief Geologist


Dr. Zapivalov is the Chief Geologist at ZNG. He is also the Chief Scientist at the Institute of Oil and Gas Geology, Russian Academy of Science, and a Professor at Novosibirsk State University.

He has been a geologist for almost 51 years and has spent a great deal of his career developing oil fields throughout West Siberia. Between 1968 and 1986, Dr. Zapivalov was the Chief Geologist for the Novosibirsk Geological Association.

Dr. Zapivalov holds a Mining Engineer’s Diploma from Sverdlovsk Mining Institute. He earned a Science Academic Degree in Geology & Mineralogy in 1962 and in 1985, successfully defended a Doctor of Science Academic Degree in Geology & Mineralogy. Dr. Zapivalov also holds a number of awards, diplomas and distinctions from various organizations.

Furthermore, Dr. Zapivalov has published over 400 research papers throughout his career and he continues to lecture at conferences, seminars and workshops around the world. He has also been awarded the title of Honored Geologist of Russia.


Sergey Potapov
Vice President and Assistant Director General


Sergey Potapov is trained as a Machine and Transportation Engineer from the Kurgan Machinery Institute, Department of Automobile Transport in Kurgan, Russia.

Mr. Potapov began his professional career at the Kurgan Pipeline Factory as a Senior Engineer in 1985. He then went on to hold increasingly progressive roles within the Engineering group, ultimately holding the post of Deputy Section Manager in 1991.

Between 1991 and 2000, Mr. Potapov held further progressive management roles in engineering, sales and category marketing economics within the same organization. Between 2000 and 2002, he held the role of Deputy CEO with “Siburalresource Ltd.”, a regional ‘Gazprom’ subsidiary, which provides gas distribution throughout Kurgan region.

Mr. Potapov’s wealth of practical experience in engineering within the pipeline business and in gas distribution, combined with his proven management track record and understanding of market economics positions him as a key member of ZNG management team.


Vladimir Eret
Chief Operating Officer and Technical Director


Vladimir Eret holds a degree in Geological Engineering from the Tomsk State University, Department of Geology.

Mr. Eret has been a distinguished Geologist for over 36 years, of which he has spent over 31 years performing geological surveys throughout Kurgan region. Much of his previous work is solid foundation for ZNG's current exploration.
In addition to exploring oil, gas and minerals in Russia, Mr. Eret has also worked internationally as a Geological Engineer in Algeria, where he discovered hydrocarbon deposits.

After returning from Algeria, Mr. Eret spent five years exploring oil and gas properties in Novosibirsk, Russia, where he managed and supervised prospecting and drilling operations. Following this role, Mr. Eret moved on to spend almost a decade as Chief of the Kurgan Intergrated Expedition, a role in which he was responsible for general and hydrogeological surveying as well as prospecting in the Khanty-Mansisk region of Tyumen, Russia.
For the past eight years, Mr. Eret acted as the Director General of a public Bentonite mining operation in Russia. This company supplies well drilling technology throughout Russia.

With his extensive experience in field operations, field management and corporate management, Mr. Eret adds a wealth of strength and expertise in maintaining ZNG's strategic operating competence and fiscal control.
